Description

Overview

Joseph D'Urso designed the D'Urso Low Tables for Knoll in 1980. The programme combines very low proportions with round or square tops and multiple base arrangements.

Top and base

Composite surfaces place medium-density fibreboard between front and rear layers, then finish the perimeter with a vinyl curve. Stone versions use an integral worked edge. Legs may use glides, casters or locking casters.

Specifications

  • Square version: W 60 x D 60 x H 15.25 in (stored size)
  • Other square widths: 48 and 54 in
  • Round diameters span 42 to 72 in

Story

Furniture reduced to essentials

D'Urso introduced his spare furniture approach to Knoll in 1980. The low tables express that approach through a thin top, direct leg structure and minimal ornament.

A configurable table programme

Shape, size, top material and mobility can be combined. Fixed glides suit stationary layouts, while caster options turn the broad low surface into a movable element.
