Description

Overview

Dancing Pendant Lamp is an indoor pendant by the Copenhagen-based duo Iskos-Berlin for Audo. Its pleated shade takes its design cues from a dancer's pleated skirt caught flaring up mid-twirl, an idea that finds a final form that is precise and orderly yet soft and fluid.

Construction

The shade is made of polyester felt, a recyclable material made from used plastic bottles. Pressed PET felt is formed from felt fibres that are mechanically pressed together in a wooden mould using heat and moisture. The listed materials are ABS, felt and POM.

Specifications

Ø 65 x H 37.5 cm (SKU 71212-001405), net weight 4.905 kg. One E26 lamp on 110-130 V, 60 W at most, with a phase dimmer. White cord 400 cm and a canopy of Ø 11.5 cm. Rated IP20, protection class 2.

Story

Design as storytelling

Iskos-Berlin regard design as an art of storytelling, and the Dancing Pendant for Audo puts that principle into practice. The expressive statement lamp is exquisite yet carries a playful twist.

A skirt caught mid-twirl

The idea behind the pendant is a dancer's pleated skirt flaring up in the middle of a twirl, which grows into a final form that is precise and orderly yet soft and fluid. The shade is crafted in tactile polyester felt made from used plastic bottles.
