Description

Folding chair

Curule is Pierre Paulin's folding chair from 1982. Ligne Roset records its display at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in September 1983 and its reissue in 2009. The seat folds through its centre, and Paulin's name is stamped on the lower rear of the frame.

Curved-slat construction

The chair is assembled from curved solid beech slats cut from the same piece of wood. Threaded steel posts and rivets join the slats, while a soft full-grain hide panel forms the backrest.

Dimensions

The official sheet gives W 540 × D 425 × H 700 mm, with a 445 mm seat height.

Story

From archive to reissue

Ligne Roset's Pierre Paulin publication dates Curule to 1982. The company included it among six pieces issued with Michel Roset in 2009, presenting Curule alongside reissues of the TV chair, Archi armchair and Ursuline desk.

Three frame expressions

The current product page presents natural oak, black-stained beech and walnut versions. It gives the same dimensions for each and specifies a folding seat with a full-grain hide backrest.
