Description

Overview

Curtis is a Rodolfo Dordoni bed whose identity comes from its quilting: an exclusive pattern of a circle crossed by a vertical line, designed by Minotti Studio. The tall, thin headboard has an exposed zipper along the sides, and the sommier is raised from the ground.

Construction

The frame is one-piece plywood with pocket springs under polyurethane foam, and the headboard is plywood padded with foam plus a bonded 3 mm layer that emphasises the embossed effect of the pattern. Upholstery is in fabric or leather. The sommier stands on Pewter varnished aluminium blades, and the headboard rests on load-bearing metal bars painted matt Black.

Specifications

  • Height: 108 cm (42 1/2 in)
  • Sommier: 18 cm high, with pocket springs, on 6.5 cm aluminium blades
  • Glides: black protective SEBS
  • Upholstery: fabric or leather

Story

A pattern designed by Minotti Studio

The Curtis bed owes its original identity to precious quilting. The exclusive pattern, a circle crossed by a vertical line, was designed by Minotti Studio. The workmanship gives an effect of great softness to the fabrics and leathers used for the upholstery.

From the full pattern to a single line

On the sommier raised from the ground, the pattern is simplified and reduced to the sole vertical line, which becomes the protagonist of the finishing. Together with the tall, thin headboard and its exposed zipper along the sides, the bed suggests the encounter between the past of the Deco tradition, through the rich quilting, and the present of interior decoration, with its sophisticated graphics.
