Description

Overview

Cuadra-Soft Edge is a 2026 sofa by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso. Its profile, traditionally the place of seams and structural transitions, is reinterpreted through a tone-on-tone fur edging, and the rigorous architecture of the design remains intact.

Construction

Under the seat cushion, which mixes flexible polyurethane of differentiated densities with recycled polyester fibre, runs a steel tube frame with a powder coat and elastic webbing. The back and arms repeat that steel build and are capped with polyurethane of differentiated density plus quilting filled with recycled polyester fibre. A plush trim finishes the profile. The feet, fixed to the seat frame, are varnished solid ash, with beech as the lacquered alternative, and the covers come off completely.

Story

Edging as part of the silhouette

The profile of the sofa is reinterpreted through a tone-on-tone fur edging that changes how it is perceived. As in haute craftsmanship, piping is an integral part of the silhouette's construction.

A softer outline

The soft edge introduces a gentle transition between volume and space, softening the sharpness of the outline. The geometry stays precise but loses visual rigidity: the upholstery appears deeper and more continuous, and the sofa takes on a more natural and relaxed presence. Patricia Urquiola designed it in 2026.
