A scalable office system
Cove Collection by Knoll is a workplace collection for private offices that can grow from a modest room to an expansive executive suite. The official product page describes fixed-height peninsulas, height-adjustable desks, credenzas, overheads, workwalls, shelves and technology cabinets as elements that can be combined for individual, multi-use and shared offices.
Materials and planning details
The collection is made from premium metal, back-painted glass and fine wood veneer, with workwalls also available in pinnable fabric. Concealed cable management routes power and data through the components, while surface-integrated power modules are available in worksurfaces and credenzas. A plinth base creates a continuous line from the top edge to the floor; load-bearing metal shelves can carry an optional undermount task light.
Finish and recognition
The official finish list includes Knoll core veneer groups, painted metal and back-painted glass, plus PET options. Cove Collection by Knoll received a 2024 Metropolis Likes Award in the Systems and Solutions category. No single representative W×D×H dimension is published because the system contains multiple component types and configurations.
Story
A cove as a workplace idea
Knoll says the collection takes its name from natural inlets that provide shelter from the sea. Dan Grabowski developed Cove as a refined, approachable system for the private office, balancing a slim profile, beveled edges and concealed cable management with the ability to scale across different room sizes.
Craft and flexibility
The collection uses a wood-finishing process in which veneer pieces are selected from the same flitch and components are processed together. Its elements support focused work, collaboration and video conferencing, allowing a private office to shift between individual and group activity while retaining a consistent architectural line.
