COLOUR floor light
COLOUR is a floor light by Daniel Rybakken and Andreas Engesvik. Two coloured laminated-glass slabs and a circular diffuser form three separate pieces arranged loosely against a wall. The fitting includes a foot switch and carries an IP30 rating.
Light and dimensions
The indirect, diffused LED light is rated at 17.3 W, 4000 K and CRI 90. The product page gives an overall width/depth of 750 mm and height of 1050 mm. Its LED is permanently fitted and is not dimmable.
Story
Light as composition
Designed in 2010, COLOUR treats light, glass planes and their shadows as an adjustable composition. e15 connects the work to minimalism, theatricality and architecture, with the wall serving as a backdrop for the separate elements.
Changing arrangement
Because the three components lean independently, their relative positions can be altered. The resulting illumination is indirect and diffused rather than emitted as a conventional exposed lamp form. Each component remains visible within the layered arrangement.
