Description

Overview

Carson Dine is the "buffet" version of the Carson bookcase, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni for Minotti. Clean lines mark out the frame and the central volume, which looks suspended and has a contoured marble top and a long beveled drop-front door.

Construction

The sides are 15 mm satin finish aluminium; the base and top are MDF, 70 mm thick, veneered in ash and lacquered open pore. The cabinet is ash-veneered MDF and opens by a drop-front door in ash or glossy lacquer. The top is 20 mm marble, glossy transparent polyester coated, and the unit stands on adjustable Hytrel® feet. Inside are a 10 mm tempered bronzed glass shelf, a drawer with a saddle-hide cutlery tray and a pull-out top.

Specifications

  • Overall size: 173 x 58 x 147 cm
  • Sides: aluminium, 15 mm
  • Top of the cabinet: marble, 20 mm
  • Drawer: full extension guides, Blumotion soft close

Story

The buffet version

The Carson family welcomes a "buffet" version of the bookcase in Carson Dine, inspired by a simple, contemporary look. Thin aluminium sides contrast with the thicker bottom shelf and top, a combination of thicknesses that Minotti brings back here.

Full and empty volumes

The central volume looks suspended and its marble top is faceted to meet the faceted edge of the long doors. Inside, a free compartment holds dishes and glasses, and an equipped area has a sliding tray and a drawer with a saddle-hide cutlery holder. The contrast between full and empty volumes is completed by alternating painted, metallic and wooden surfaces.
