Overview
Blazer is Rodolfo Dordoni's modular sofa system for Minotti. Stitching runs over every surface in evenly spaced bands on the base, cushions, armrests and backrest, giving a quilted matelassé look. The system has seats 108 cm deep and chaise-longue elements 143 cm deep, with high and low backrests and armrests, plus optional headrests and cushions.

Construction
A one-piece plywood structure with elastic webbing carries a seat in variable-density polyurethane foam. Armrests and backrests are wrapped in a quilted, heat-bonded fibre casing on white hypoallergenic cotton, and the cushions are channelled goose down. Covers lift off completely, in fabric and leather. Feet are extruded aluminium in a Brandy anti-fingerprint finish.
Specifications
Sofa 283 cm: 283 x 108 x 86 cm. High chaise-longue versions are 92 cm high.
Story
Sartorial craft
Minotti calls Blazer a virtuous combination of design appeal, visible in the rigorous geometry of its volumes, and a haute couture approach built on precise, meticulous sartorial craftsmanship. It names the product as one of the creations that best expresses the authentic artisanal attitude of the brand.
An alcove to sit in
The key feature of the design is a backrest with rounded internal corners, which forms a comfortable, enveloping niche. In the chaise-longue element with high backrest and armrest, Minotti says this turns the piece into a particularly welcoming alcove, while the quilting effect gives an instant sensation of comfort.
