Description
Overview
Bellhop is a portable, rechargeable table lamp designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby for Flos (Flos credits the design to 2018). Flos sells the current version as Bellhop Unplugged. It emits direct light and is offered in White, Grey Blue, Brick Red, Glossy Black, Yellow and Glossy Green.
Construction
The base and dome are polycarbonate (PC), and a diffuser of opaline photo-engraved PC sits under the dome. A push-button switch in the base steps through four dimming levels and three colour temperatures, and a battery status indicator shows the charge.

Story
A table light for the Parabola
Flos dates the lamp's first design to 2016, when it was made as a bespoke table light for the Parabola restaurant and members' room at the Design Museum in London, and credits the production design to 2018. The table version is now sold as Bellhop Unplugged.
Cordless by design
The lamp carries its own power: a Li-ion battery gives up to 24 hours of use and 1,000 guaranteed charging cycles, and the IP54 rating allows it to stand outdoors. A push-button switch in the base selects one of four dimming steps and one of three colour temperatures, 2200, 2700 or 3000 K.
