B&B Italia dates the Ayana chair to 2020 and credits Naoto Fukasawa. The manufacturer says the chair makes use of wood with a pleasant oriental touch: a round-section frame in natural teakwood, complemented by generously padded cushions.

Construction

Solid wood forms the frame, and thermoplastic ferrules are listed. Cushion padding is polyurethane of varying density wrapped in a polyester-fibre cover that repels water. A separate waterproof cloth cover is specified, a polyester (PES) fabric with a polyurethane coat on one face.
