Overview
Arcos is a 2017 seating collection by Lievore Altherr. Arper describes it as a restrained interpretation of Art Deco geometry, with paired curves in the armrests recalling classical archways.
Construction
The lounge armchair uses an elliptical sled base with integrated armrests in coated or polished aluminium. A plywood internal shell is padded in polyurethane and fully upholstered in fabric, leather or coated fabric. Adjustable glides are documented for the armchair version.
Representative dimensions
The official drawing for article #6101 prints the largest values 88, 76 and 70.5 cm. The drawing gives no axis names.
Story
Classical rhythm without ornament
Arper reduces an Art Deco reference to structure rather than applied decoration. Two continuous armrest curves create the signature graphic line described by the manufacturer and give the upholstered body a frame.
One language across three scales
The family extends from a small chair to a lounge armchair and two-seat sofa. Each version keeps the sled-and-armrest outline while changing the scale of the upholstered shell. Coated and polished aluminium finishes allow the structure to remain visually continuous with the selected upholstery.
