Story
A canopy over the sitter
Vitra's fact sheet says the extended backrest of the Highback curves over the head of the sitter to create a niche-like canopy, which gives the chair a sense of shelter, seclusion and privacy. The page describes the high backrest as a protective, roof-like structure.
