Description

Overview

Marie C Dorner's Amédée carver chair wraps a continuous cushioned back around the seat to form low arms and lumbar support. The fixed solid-beech base gives it a dining-chair stance.

Construction and comfort

A wire-steel frame under injected foam shapes the back and arms. The seat has a three-layer particleboard structure with high-resilience Bultex foams at 48 and 38 kg/m³; the back and arms use 35 kg/m³ injected polyurethane foam.

Upholstery and size

A 110 g/m² polyester layer quilts the back and seat cover, with 5 mm baguette stitching and twin-needle stitching behind the back. It can be removed professionally. The chair measures 590 x 610 x 850 mm (W x D x H), with a 480 mm seat height.

Story

A lumbar cushion around the seat

Amédée develops from the idea of a lumbar cushion that continues around the sitter. Its back curves into low arms, leaving the chair compact enough to sit around a dining table.

Fixed and swivel bases

The family offers solid beech legs, a four-branch swivel base and a five-branch swivel base with height adjustment. The four wooden legs give the fixed version a lighter dining profile than the central swivel alternatives.
