Description

Overview

Alvea is a triangular console table designed by Marco Lavit in 2023. It is a console that sublimates woodworking: the beauty of the material, enriched by the continuous grain of the sloping sides, is set against the "carabottino" top surface, where the wood essence embraces a new materiality.

Construction

The load-bearing structure is 8 mm thick steel sheet powder coated with epoxy polyester in a burnished colour. The side panels are 20 mm thick MDF veneered in oak. The top consists of interlocking 20 x 20 mm elements, enclosed by a perimeter frame of solid oak measuring 50 x 20 mm. The wooden parts are available in a natural or a charcoal-dyed oak finish, and the console rests on plastic tips.

Specifications

Width 148 cm, height 72 cm.

Story

A triangular console built around the grain of the wood

Marco Lavit designed Alvea in 2023 as a triangular console. The continuous grain of the sloping sides is the feature that gives the piece its character, and it meets the "carabottino" top, a surface in which the wood takes on a new materiality.

Steel sheet structure, oak panels and an interlocking top

An 8 mm steel sheet carries the load, powder coated with epoxy polyester, burnished colour. The side panels are 20 mm MDF veneered in oak, and the top is interlocking 20 x 20 mm elements inside a solid oak perimeter frame of 50 x 20 mm.
