Aldgate Bench

A bench that stands alone

Rodolfo Dordoni's Aldgate Bench carries the soft lines of the Aldgate bed into an autonomous seating element. Molteni&C describes a sculptural silhouette that can be placed with bedroom furniture or used independently.

Upholstered top and metal base

The top is medium-density fibreboard padded with high-bearing-capacity polyurethane foam. Bonded velveteen, cotton and polyester fibre sit beneath the removable outer cover. Painted extruded aluminium runs around the lower perimeter, while aluminium feet terminate in non-slip plastic floor slides.

From bed companion to autonomous seat

Molteni&C introduces the bench as a natural extension of Aldgate, yet stresses that it is a self-contained piece. Its purpose is not limited to the bed's foot: the official page says it can align with other bedroom furnishings or stand by itself.

Quiet detail

The removable cover supplies practical versatility, and the aluminium feet visually separate the upholstered top from the floor. Molteni&C connects the bench's soft outline and restrained detailing with calm and comfort.
