Description

Overview

Abandon is a bed by Marie C Dorner with a wider, upholstered headboard and an integrated frame. The headboard is assembled from foam-and-fabric upholstered panels in an asymmetrical arrangement. It is offered in overflowing or fitted versions, with the headboard alone or together with the bed frame.

Construction

The bowl-shaped upholstered bed base uses plywood and beech plywood slats with high-resilience Bultex foam. The headboard frame is plywood and black-stained ash-veneered MDF, finished with upholstered 6 mm MDF panels, high-resilience foam and 110 g/m² polyester quilting.

Specifications

The representative 180 x 200 cm bed with wider plain-version headboard measures 2700 x 2100 x 1080 mm (W x D x H). Its upholstered bed frame is removable.

Story

An asymmetrical headboard

Marie C Dorner describes a patchwork of foam-and-fabric upholstered panels that provides comfort and gives the headboard an unconventional composition. The panels are set out asymmetrically, creating a dynamic arrangement and leaving room for different bedside-table positions.

Headboard and frame as one system

The bed combines the headboard with a discreet frame finished in black ash. The frame attaches directly to the headboard for stability. Both overflowing and fitted headboards are offered, and the system may be specified as the headboard alone or as a headboard-and-bed-frame assembly.
