A recycled-material chair
Aava 02 is a dining chair collection by Antti Kotilainen. Arper describes the shell as polypropylene made with post-consumer recycled material mixed with virgin polypropylene. The family includes four-leg and sled-base chairs, wooden legs, and trestle bases with or without castors.
Construction and options
The official sheet lists a plywood shell with reconstituted oak or walnut finish, a recycled-polypropylene shell, upholstered shells, and removable seat cushions. Upholstery may use fabric, leather, coated fabric, or customer material; the cover can be separated and replaced by technical personnel because it is applied without glue.
Story
Aava looks forward
Arper presents Aava 02 as a new edition of the classic Aava minimalism, using post-consumer plastic and virgin polypropylene. The company says the palette was developed to complement other Arper collections and frames the chair as a responsible model for future generations.
A flexible family
The product page positions Aava 02 for indoor and outdoor applications, from hospitality to residential settings. The collection is available as chair or stool, with multiple base choices. The chair range includes four-leg and sled bases, wooden legs, and trestle bases with or without castors; the trestle chair can take optional armrests.
Care and renewal
Arper says upholstery without glue and removable accessories support flexibility and care. Its closer-look text also says the product can be refurbished and renewed, extending its life while reducing its impact. The page states that an average of 5.6 kilograms of waste is used to produce 10 chairs.
