Biography

Background

Stefano Gaggero was born in Savona. Flexform's designer page says that after his studies at the IED, European Institute of Design in Milan, in 1995 he chose Milan as the base for his career. He worked with Ferruccio Laviani from 1996 to 2002 and with Paola Navone from 2002 to 2006, handling setting and research on trends in colours and materials, and opened his own studio in 2006.

Signature Style

His work covers many shades, from product design to trend research. Flexform says that in recent years he has worked for furniture companies, mainly on the study of corporate image, set design, visual concept and interior design.

Notable Works

Flexform credits him with the Lucien sofa of 2018. Its news pages call him the art director of the brand's MOOD collection: the 2017 MOOD project was artistically directed by him, covering the design of the stand, the choice of fabrics and the set design of the catalogue and advertising campaign.

Legacy

He supervised the MOOD concept store in Toronto as artistic director of the collection, and the "An intimate look" print campaign features his Lucien sofa. At the 2019 Salone del Mobile Flexform shows a Lucien armchair by him next to the Armand sofa and pieces by Samuel Accoceberry.
