Skogstad & Wærnes is the Oslo studio of Norwegian designers Petter Skogstad and Fredrik Wærnes, both born in 1985. They met while studying product design at Oslo Metropolitan University and ECAL and formed their joint practice in 2020.
Experience and approach
Before establishing the studio, the designers accumulated experience with Anderssen & Voll, Andreas Engesvik and Snøhetta. Audo characterises their method as honest and thoughtful, attentive to the responsibility involved in making new products.
Work with Audo
Their work spans furniture, lighting and objects. For Audo, they designed the Merkur Chair for the historic Oslo Stock Exchange building. The commission connects their furniture practice to a specific Norwegian architectural setting. Audo later introduced the solid-wood chair in versions with and without armrests.
