Odo Fioravanti

Background

Odo Fioravanti is an Italian industrial designer who studied Industrial Design at the Design Department of the Milan Polytechnic. He has worked as an industrial designer since 1998, also experimenting with graphic and exhibition design, and has run Odo Fioravanti Design Studio since 2006. He has taught and lectured at the Milan Polytechnic, the University of Venice, San Marino University, Istituto Marangoni, Domus Academy and HEAD Genève, and has written as a freelance journalist for design magazines.

Signature Style

Fioravanti describes his studio as one that gives shape to products "sometimes for brands, most of the time for people, always for the design discipline itself", with a firm will to melt different design areas into a continuous matter. For Pedrali he has said that objects should enter people's lives gracefully, gently and take on different meanings day to day.

Legacy

In 2010 the Triennale Design Museum in Milan held his solo exhibition "Industrious Design". Since 2022 he has sat on the Advisory Board of the Presidency of the School of Design of the Politecnico di Milano, and from 2023 to 2026 he served as Global Design Advisor for LG Electronics. His studio has worked for companies including Ballarini, Casamania, Flou, Fontana Arte, Foscarini, Normann Copenhagen, Olivetti, Pedrali, Toshiba, Vibram and Victorinox.
