Biography
Background
Nick Ross (1986) is a Scottish-Swedish, Stockholm-based industrial designer. Audo says he studied at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen, where he won the Arts & Heritage prize for his graduation project Stray, and completed a fine arts Master's programme in interior architecture and furniture design at Konstfack in Stockholm. He worked as an assistant to Matti Klenell before founding his own Stockholm studio in 2014.
Signature Style
His studio site describes visually restrained works with a strong emphasis on materiality and context, built around themes such as origin, place and time. Audo adds a sensitivity to materials that makes bold moves appear delicate.
Notable Works
The studio's projects page lists clients including +Halle, Louis Vuitton, Rimowa, Skultuna and NIKO JUNE. For Audo Copenhagen it lists the Tearoom club chair (2018), Tearoom swivel lounge, side chair and sofa high back (2022), the Cairn pouf (2021), the Cyclades vases (2017) and the Darkly mirror (2015).
