Background
Jonas Forsman was born in Sweden in 1979. HAY says he studied furniture at Stenebyskolan and later completed a master's degree in Industrial Design Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology. He lives in Gothenburg and operates his own design studio there.
Practice
Forsman's work focuses on furniture and product design. HAY describes his process as drawing on mechanical solutions and investigating what materials and fabrics can do, with an aim of reducing products to their essential elements.
Work and recognition
His projects have been exhibited in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Milan. HAY also records several Red Dot awards. His designs for the company are the O2 Lounge Chair and the matching O2 Ottoman.
