Biography
Background
Guido Rosati comes from Italy’s Abruzzo region and moved to Rome in 1970. Flexform says that, after studying architecture, he turned his attention to design and used his Rome studio to experiment with techniques for multifunctional furniture.
Areas of work
From the 1970s through the 1990s, Rosati created lamps that Flexform describes as highly innovative. His work has also crossed into hydromassage spa-bath design, where he developed tubs with an emphasis on new aesthetic directions. In later work with leading upholstered-furniture companies, he has designed sofa beds.
Research and Flexform
Flexform reports that Rosati is researching the relationships and effects between product creation and the global market. The company's designer page links him to Winny, a Flexform sofa bed.
