e27, Tim Brauns

Background

Berlin is where Tim Brauns and two partners set up e27, 25 years ago, and Brauns has since designed objects, taught students in many countries and carried out projects across every category of design.

Signature Style

Brauns speaks of combining everyday elements into one object. His 'softruck' came about after the birth of his son: he had bought a new sofa and needed side tables, and as his son likes everything with four wheels he combined the two ideas. He says it is useful for the living room and does not look like a toy, though his son loves to play with it.

Notable Works

For Ligne Roset, e27 and Tim Brauns designed the Clampy portable light in natural ash.
