Collection Story

Origin

Vuelta was created by Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon for the Austrian upholsterer Wittmann; Wittmann dates the Vuelta armchair and sofa to 2016. Wittmann calls the series the foundation and quintessence of the Wittmann Hayon Workshop collection, Hayon's playful reinterpretation of the Wiener Werkstätte era.

Design Language

Vuelta combines distinctive forms, harmonious proportions and remarkable comfort. Rounded backs sweep around the seat and fold forward into arms, and articulated seam patterns recall Viennese Modernism. Pieces sit on fine bronze, black grey, chrome, black chrome or gold legs, with fixed covers in fabric or leather; modules use pocket spring cores and polymousse.

Key Pieces

The Vuelta Armchair 80 and 72, the Vuelta Sofa (197, 254, 311 cm, plus a 140 cm loveseat), the Chaise Longue, Lounge Sofa and Lounge Island, a high-back chair, the FD Chair and FD Table (2019), and Vuelta Modular (2023/2024).
