Collection Story

Origin

Treflo is a family of tables by Ronan Bouroullec for Cassina. The page header for the oval table reads "Design by Ronan Bouroullec, 2025", and the Treflo family is listed in the 2025 novelties Cassina showed in Milan, where it is described as a contrast between the base and the undulating or lacquered back-lacquered glass top.

Design language

The family draws on two kinds of base. One is three-lobed and goes under round tops; the other is an infinity shape used on oval tables with two legs, and a large round top of 195 cm takes a base with three legs. Tops are lacquered in a matte or glossy finish, or made of extra-clear glass worked hot on textured surfaces so that it takes a rippled texture and is back-lacquered in vivid colours once cooled. Tone-on-tone colour between base and top runs through the range, and Cassina adds that some versions are lacquered entirely, base and top together.

Key pieces

  • Treflo Round Table: the dining-height round form, from Ø 120 up to Ø 195 cm.
  • Treflo Oval Table: lengths of 240, 275 and 295 cm, 124 cm deep, 74 cm high, plus a 380 cm version with a glass top only that seats up to twelve.
  • Treflo Coffee Table: a low round table with a lobed base, in Ø 90 and Ø 120 cm sizes.

Cassina's text for the coffee table names a polyurethane base and, for the top, glass or MDF.
