Collection Story
Origin
The Stacked Storage System is Muuto's modular storage family by Julien De Smedt, a Brussels-born architect who runs JDS Architects. Muuto presents it as flexible storage that its owner reconfigures again and again to suit a space and a taste, adding a modern, creative angle to conventional storage.
Design Language
De Smedt says the form of Stacked grew out of what he did not want the design to be: simple and clean, set against the messy look of improvised shelving at home. He calls the result simple, rigid and elementary, meant positively, with a configurable nature that adds a new perspective to Scandinavian design.
