Collection Story

Origin

Minotti introduces Sendai as a line of seats by the studio Inoda+Sveje, named after the city of trees. The first range covered a compact sofa and several chairs: armchair, lounge armchair, and little armchairs for dining and lounging. The 2023 extension brought another sofa, a footstool, and a swivel armchair that has armrests.

Design Language

The identity of the line is its legs, which Minotti likens to slender trunks lifting the upholstered body in a rhythm of verticals; they are made of walnut or ash, and the armchairs can also sit on a 360° swivel base with return. Minotti presents the small scale as a way to let a dining area double as a lounge: dinner at a big table while guests talk around a low one.
