Collection Story
Origin
Pyramid is a collection of tables, a desk and a bench designed by Wim Rietveld at Ahrend and brought back by HAY in cooperation with Ahrend. HAY's news page places the design in the middle of the twentieth century, and its designer text names 1960.
Design Language
HAY calls the collection an example of the cutout steel sheet process of the mid-twentieth century. It describes an organic shape that is exceptionally sparing in its use of materials and relatively simple to construct. All configurations are linked visually by the same base frame.
