Collection Story
Origin
Fredericia's Pioneer Collection is a pair of stool entries by the Danish designer Maria Bruun. Fredericia presents Pioneer as the newest result of its collaboration with her, and its Pioneer Stool page traces the idea to Bruun's Nordic Pioneer pieces from the CONNECTED project.
Design Language
Fredericia pairs a soft, round seat with a wooden frame and speaks of seating comfort, functionality and a sculptural language. Bruun's studio site places the stools in a modern Scandinavian tradition and links them to her sculptural minimalism. It names three frame treatments, oak lacquer, smoked oak stained lacquer and beech black lacquer, and two cover types, fabric or leather.
