Collection Story
Origin
Parka is the modular seating range that the duo Draga & Aurel designed for Poltrona Frau. The product sheet, headed Parka, Draga & Aurel, 2024/2025, calls it the first collaboration between the designers and the company. In April 2025, for Milano Design Week, Poltrona Frau's press release said the Parka model was extended by a concave corner and a pouf.
Design Language
The company ties the name to a jacket from 1990s streetwear, a garment it links with US grunge culture. Poltrona Frau's text borrows the jacket's character for the furniture: a strong personality that still goes with many styles. Cushioning reaches the floor, and the backrest is an unusual oval that runs on into the arm and then the seat in one movement, forming a concave or convex shape that the page calls bold yet inviting.
Key Pieces
- Parka modular sofa, assembled from 60° elements, concave or convex
- Parka ottoman, a pouf placed in front of the sofa or a rounded armchair
