Origin
Meantime is a three-piece lounge series by Anderssen & Voll, launched with a press release of February 2025: a one-seater lounge chair, AV29, a two-seater sofa, AV30, and a three-seater sofa, AV31. The release says it is designed to cross the boundary between residential and commercial settings.
Design Language
The release takes its reference from furniture in the waiting rooms of public transport: wide, forward-reaching yet slender arms. Torbjørn Anderssen says that the counter movement between the armrests and the shell on which the cushions rest is "the DNA of the project", and that the name comes from the idea that you are usually waiting for something good to happen in those spaces.
