Collection Story
Created for Copenhague
GUBI identifies Masculo as a GamFratesi chair collection designed in 2008. The manufacturer says the chair was created for the fine dining restaurant Copenhague at Maison du Danemark in Paris across three chair types. That commission brought the designers' Danish and Italian backgrounds together in one family.
Shared design language
Across the collection, GUBI describes an almost overly large upholstered backrest that appears to float. The support changes by product: the dining chair is shown with wood or sledge bases, the lounge chair has a four-legged wood base, and the meeting chair uses a metal swivel base.
Three documented chair types
The saved official pages identify Masculo Dining Chair, Masculo Lounge Chair and Masculo Meeting Chair as collection members. Each has its own item-level materials, dimensions and images in the Library; the collection record preserves only the shared origin and family structure.
