Origin
Loafer started as a lounge chair that Space Copenhagen designed for &Tradition for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The 2019 press release for the sofa places the commission in the studio's renovation of Arne Jacobsen's SAS Royal Hotel.
Design Language
The 2019 press release for the SC24 chair describes a stylised semi-circle shape that extends to the floor, with sloped sides that let the arms rest comfortably. In the 2025 release for the Club and Side chairs, Space Copenhagen leaves out the armrests, so that a user can enter the seat from either side and the chairs can gather around tables.
