Collection Story
Origin
Lifesteel is a Flexform seating family designed by Antonio Citterio and dated 2006 on its pages; the cover of the technical sheet reads "LIFESTEEL ANTONIO CITTERIO 2006". Flexform made it a chapter of its "Home at last" advertising series.
Design Language
Flexform describes a light, straightforward look with generous, inviting proportions. An amply sized rectangular armrest, as high as the seat back, gives the sofa its visual weight; a sleek, minimal metal base lifts it, and a cowhide-upholstered frame holds goose-down cushions with a support bolster behind the back cushions. Grosgrain piping, matching or contrasting, is one of the couture details the page names.
