Collection Story

Origin

Lamino grew out of Yngve Ekström's long search for the perfect sitting curve, from the armchairs Anders and Per (1945) through Kurva and Båge (1953). Yngve and his brother Jerker presented Lamino at the 1956 furniture fair in natural saddle leather, a chair as well thought out for production as for comfort.

Design Language

Molded, layer-glued veneer shapes one continuous curve where legs, seat and back read as a unit. Ekström designed it with the human body as the starting point; it is offered in oak, beech or walnut with sheepskin, fabric or leather.

Key Pieces

The Lamino easy chair, the low-backed Laminett (1956), the Lamino footstool, the Lamino table (49 cm), the Lamino neck cushion and the children's Lamini, plus periodic limited Lamino Editions.
