Collection Story
Origin
Gregory is a 2020 Flexform line designed by Antonio Citterio; its sheet title reads "GREGORY | GREGORY XL | ANTONIO CITTERIO | 2020" and Flexform's campaign news calls the sofa Gregory XL. On the 2020 collection page Flexform quotes Citterio: "Gregory is an indoor product that started with the same technology in the use of this exposed webbing".
Design Language
Flexform credits the sofa with a bold personality and exquisite proportions. The austerity of the metal base is softened by the warmth of leather on the exposed stretches of elastic webbing that carry the seat cushions, and grosgrain piping outlines the soft cushions as an example of couture tailoring. Flexform describes the seating system as perfectly poised between classicism and modernity.
