Collection Story

Origin

Joan Gaspar designed Ginger for Marset in 2014, starting with a pendant. Marset's page presents the family as two materials, wood and metal, that together make a lamp for every lighting and decorating need. The desk lamp of the family was selected for a 2017 Wallpaper* Design Award in the category “Best hot desking”.

Design Language

Each member repeats one idea: a broad, near-flat disc above a small dark dome that holds the light source. The light is thrown onto the inside of the disc and comes back into the room as indirect light without glare. Marset points to the simplicity of form and the lightweight look. Wood versions are oak or wenge, metal versions brushed brass, black or white, and the wall lamps were later joined by mauve, stone grey and sand.
