Brand Story

Heritage

Marset Iluminación is a lighting company from the Barcelona area. For decades it was based in Badalona, where it occupied its premises from 1979, before moving its headquarters and factory to an 11,000 m² former chocolate-machine factory in Terrassa, 20 km from Barcelona, refurbished by Stefano Colli. The company is led by its CEOs, the brothers Javier and Carlos Marset.

Philosophy

Marset calls its approach "taking care of light". Its collection proposes lighting that does not dazzle — soft light that integrates into the space, indoors or outdoors, reveals textures and makes rooms more livable. Lamps, in Marset's words, are objects that bring proportion, intimacy and warmth to the place around them. The company's sustainability report names quality, technological thoroughness, innovation, durability and authenticity as its values.

Iconic Works

Marset works with designers such as Joan Gaspar, Lluís Porqueras, Inma Bermúdez, Mathias Hahn, Fabien Dumas, Sputnik Estudio, Yabu Pushelberg and Jordi Canudas. Its best-known pieces include Joan Gaspar's Ginger and Soho, the FollowMe portable lamp by Inma Bermúdez (Red Dot Award 2016), the Tam Tam pendant by Fabien Dumas, Santorini by Sputnik Estudio and Sac by Cristian Díez and Joan Gaspar — the last four entered the permanent collection of the Museum of Design in Barcelona.

Today

Marset designs and produces indoor and outdoor lamps from its Terrassa headquarters, which also houses production and a showroom, with further showrooms in New York (Marset USA, Brooklyn), Milan and Porto. Lamps are sold through the Marset store and a dealer network, and a sustainability committee guides the company's environmental strategy.
