Collection Story
Origin
Series production of Eileen Gray's furniture, lamps and rugs came out of a cooperation with Zeev Aram that started in the 1970s; in 1973 she gave Aram Designs Ltd., London the rights for the whole world. The Vereinigte Werkstätten in Munich, from which ClassiCon emerged in 1990, already produced her designs under licence; today ClassiCon is the only licensee in the world for the Eileen Gray Collection.
Design Language
The collection spans Gray's move from Art Deco luxury to modernist tubular steel: chrome frames, generous upholstery, glass and lacquer, and geometric wool rugs (now also in a nettle version).
