Collection Story
Origin
Marcel Wanders designed Cyborg for Magis. The name comes from the term coined in 1960 by Manfred Clynes for an organism combining natural and artificial elements; Wanders sees that fusion as a search for new combinations. Cyborg Club and Cyborg Stick are dated 2012.
Design Language
A polycarbonate shell on four simple plastic legs, deliberately "non-designed", is paired with a "designed" artisanal backrest in wicker, solid wood or fabric-covered foam. The backrest is what sets the chair's expressive and aesthetic character.
Key Pieces
Cyborg Club has a wicker back and Cyborg Stick a back in solid ash. Cyborg Lady and Cyborg Lord are upholstered in Kvadrat Remix and Kvadrat Divina MD / Divina Melange respectively.
