Collection Story

Origin

Architect and interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel created the Anja seating family for Ligne Roset. The manufacturer presents the programme as an element of interior architecture, built from parts that can be arranged and rearranged rather than fixed permanently in one composition. The official Anja pages link the composition, settee with shelf, settee and footstool under the same family name.

Design Language

Anja is described through fluid, organic lines, rounded modules and continuity between volumes. Right- and left-hand modules, a fireside chair and a tablet allow different combinations, from a compact settee to larger arrangements. An unclipping system permits each module to be moved, which is the family's central functional principle. The absence of sharp angles and the continuity of the lines are part of Ligne Roset's own description of how Anja is perceived in a room.

Shared Construction

The common seating structure uses multi-ply panels and a polyether foam facing, followed by polyester quilting specified at 110 grams per square metre. Elastic webbing provides seat suspension. High-resilience Bultex polyurethane foam is specified at several densities and firmness values for seats and backrests. Large back cushions combine a Bultex foam cushion with new duck feathers, while bolsters and small back cushions use new duck feathers with a stated mixture of ten percent down and ninety percent feathers.

The making-up specification calls for a five-millimetre baguette stitch around principal seat and back edges and single stitching on small back cushions. Bases are fully upholstered. Fabric and microfibre coverings may be removed by a professional, leather coverings remain fixed, and loose cushion covers are removable. Where the tablet is included, it uses moulded particleboard and plywood with dark walnut veneer.

Upholstery Programme

Ligne Roset's covering families range from woven fabrics and wool to leather, velvet, chenille, microfibre and textiles made with effect threads. The collection therefore retains one shared construction and detailing specification while allowing its finish to be selected from a broad material programme.
