Heritage

DEDON was founded in 1990 by Bobby Dekeyser. It started with an innovative, weatherproof synthetic fiber, DEDON Fiber, and set out to create woven outdoor furniture that combined modern technology with luxurious hand-craftsmanship. The search for the best weavers led DEDON to Cebu Island in the Philippines. It began producing there in 1994 and opened its own facilities in 2000.

Philosophy

DEDON says it was born out of a love of the outdoors, a willingness to think differently and a relentless pursuit of quality. It owns and operates the complete supply chain of its handmade woven furniture, from fiber to frame to finishing and shipping. In 2002 it introduced the idea of the Outdoor Living Room.

Today

The Diethelm Keller Group took a majority stake in 2014. In 2020 DEDON marked 30 years with 800 team members and representation in more than 80 countries. In 2021 it introduced DEDON EcoCycle Fiber.
