Description

Overview

X Table System is a collection of tables and service tables by Hsiang Han Hsu and made in Taiwan. Two models exist, the service table and the low service table, topped with extra-clear tempered glass or black high-pressure laminate.

Construction

The top rests on an injection-molded plastic base inspired by geometric structures found in nature. The black base is modular and assembled from fibreglass and nylon components, partly new and partly recycled; the composition is 40% new nylon, 30% recycled nylon and 30% glass fibre. The feet are black plastic caps with black anti-slip rubber.

Specifications

Designed in 2024. Top: black high-pressure laminate or extra-clear tempered glass.

Story

A base drawn from natural geometry

Hsiang Han Hsu is a Taiwanese designer whose multi-disciplinary studio is based in Taipei. For this collection he gave the tables an injection-molded plastic base inspired by the geometric structures found in nature, intended to give strength and stability.

Modularity and repair

The design rests on modularity: the base is built by assembling fibreglass and nylon components, some new and some recycled. Easy repairs extend the product's lifespan, and the approach reduces production costs and resource consumption.
