Overview
Francesco Meda's Woody stool extends the Woody seating language to elevated seating. Continuous lines and concealed joints keep the solid-ash frame visually light.
Construction
The frame is stained solid ash. Its seat is either ash-veneered beech plywood or beech plywood covered in bonded hide leather. A curved painted-steel ring forms the footrest.
Published codes
The official sheet identifies WSG1 for the all-wood stool and WSG2 for the bonded-hide seat. Both drawings print 70, 65, 41.5 and 41 cm without written axis labels.
Story
Airy sections
Meda describes his focus as reducing sections so that precious timber is not wasted. Woody turns that principle into narrow members and continuous curves rather than hiding the frame beneath upholstery.
Joinery as form
Molteni&C emphasises the absence of visible screws and the seamless joining of the components. The stool keeps the family idea while changing the proportions for elevated seating and adding a steel footrest ring to the timber structure.
