Wing Sofa

Overview

Stand-alone sofa by Antonio Citterio, 2014 in Flexform's listing: a low, deep backrest cushion held out on slender cast-aluminium supports, over goose-down seat cushions on a cowhide-clad structure.

Construction

Hide-leather-covered metal frame with a polyurethane mattress under the seating, backrest and armrest in metal and plywood with polyurethane foam and dacron, aluminium feet on thermoplastic pads.

Light, airy and floating

Flexform's page describes the Wing sofa as light and airy, built from geometric shapes that stay soft and free of sharp corners. The metal base is set back almost out of sight, which it says gives the impression of floating.
