Overview
The Viola Essence small armchair is by AB Concept for Poltrona Frau. The name pays tribute to the purity of this new version of the Viola armchair, reduced to a beveled wooden structure and soft cushions.
Construction
A solid ash frame with elastic belt seat suspension. The seat cushion combines polyurethane foam and polyester wadding; the backrest cushion is feathers around a foam insert, held by a curved metal sheet. The upholstery in Pelle Frau leather or fabric is removable.

Story
A new version of the Viola
Poltrona Frau's page says Viola Essence is a new version of the Viola armchair, which AB Concept designed for the brand and which was inspired by seating first created for the three-Michelin-star restaurant of the Four Seasons in Hong Kong.
Two components
The page reduces the design to two parts: a smooth, beveled wooden structure and cushions it describes as soft yet rigorous.
