Overview
Tub Lamp Ø13 EU Black is a pendant lamp by Hans Thyge & Co for Normann Copenhagen. Its spun aluminum lampshade merges smoothly into the cord, which makes the lamp and cord appear as one unit. It weighs 0.4 kg.
Construction
The lampshade is spun aluminum with a socket for the bulb, and the black version is powder coated. The cord is a 4 m fabric-covered cord in black, and the canopy is black as well. The curved top of the shade grows into a stem from which the cord is wired.

Nature and Nordic minimalism
The design of Tub unites inspiration from nature with the minimalistic aesthetic of Nordic design. The generous lampshade is the main feature: it encapsulates the light and gives off a pleasant, uniform glow.
A shade that grows into its cord
The slightly curved top of the lampshade grows into a stem, from which the electric cord is wired. This detail recalls the silhouette of an apple or one of nature's many other fruits and plants, and the cord and stem seem to grow together. Hans Thyge & Co designed Tub in 2023, with clean, modern lines that give a timeless look.
