Description

Overview

The Tropicalia chaise longue is filed by Moroso in the Chaise Longues and Outdoor living groups, with the line "by Patricia Urquiola, 2008". The 2026 data sheet gives it two codes: 470 on a varnished base and 471 on a stainless steel base.

Construction

The page describes a tubular frame, in stainless steel or in steel with a powder coat finish, suitable for outdoor use and standing on PVC glides. A polymer cord is woven onto the frame. The July 2026 product sheet lists the chaise longue in weaving A only.

Specifications

  • Base finishes: varnished tubular steel in six colours, or stainless steel
  • Cord sets: TR0 codes in translucent thread and TR1 codes in thread with 30% recycled content
  • Dimensions: 90, 157, 122, 77 and 37 cm on the drawing (axes not labelled on the drawing)

Story

Two bases, one weaving

In the product sheet the chaise longue appears with a varnished base (TR0470 and TR1470) and a stainless steel base (TR0471 and TR1471). It is shown with weaving A only; the sheet describes two weaving patterns, diagonal or perpendicular, depending on the colour variant.

Patricia Urquiola, 2008

The Moroso page credits the chaise longue to Patricia Urquiola with the year 2008, and the product sheet opens with a sentence on the turn of the wire: similar to a pencil stroke, marking a surface that is at once graphic and structural.
